I was with Cisco 16 years. Bought into the we are family and take care of each other. Once I was in leadership I felt sick knowing this was a lie just to get people bought into the company stress and work 70 hours a week. It’s nothing more than a job. Do the work, take the pay, move on. But don’t buy into their we are family cr-p. Once you’re no longer needed they will axe you without blinking an eye.

Some years ago a VP contradicted our HR “family” mantra at an all-hands: “we are not family - but we’re a team.” So true.
this is literally any company, it's what capitalism. We are not people to them, we are capital, human capital. It's called human resources for a reason and not people resources
I never have bought into it. Makes me physically ill every time I hear some manager type invoke family.
So very accurate. Once you drink the leadership koolaid, you can’t really go back. It’s selling your soul...
