It will be super fun to change my profile on LI to Open to Work. Sending 100's of resumes to companies that never respond or trying to find LI connections that REALLY know someone in the company vs. just connecting for the sake of connecting. I am finding more and more that LI is a useless business connection site! The entire job search process is a disaster now! Recruiters don't follow-up, their resume systems don't communicate, interviews are sooo long - trust me. I started this a while ago, know this was coming. Good Luck to everyone!

Hard to not ghost people when the execs won’t tell us who’s impacted. I’m told all those in our group affected have been notified, but I have no clue who or even how many.

One of the kindest things you can do for a colleague that is impacted, is give them a LinkedIn recommendation.

LinkedIn is probably not something you use day-to-day, but recruiters live on that site. It's their lifeblood and they pay attention to recommendations.

If you tell a colleague you are going to leave a recommendation, do it. Right then. Don't wait. Don't forget. Take the ten minutes and do it.

To reiterate something the OP said. Be respectful to those that are laid off, but not in the way Cisco means. As someone affected five years age, I was shocked by those that ghosted me, and pleasantly surprised by those that went out of their way to communicate with me and help me move forward. If you find out someone is affected, reach out to them, even if it’s just to listen. And if you can, help them find their next home.

pull our stock chart out to the 5-year or 10-year and you will see literally no progress since about 2018.

why does anyone running this disaster still have a job? they can't even do a layoff right any more. heads should have been chopped last month, starting with the entire C-level.

All one has to do is look at the stock performance of Cisco compared to other similar companies and then ask 'Why has the board decided to not make a change in leadership'?

Yeah fu-k this ELT and senior leadership. They should be getting cut for horrible strategic vision and guidance - not the ICs.
