Many years ago, this was the place to be at. Great culture and great product. Fast forward to current day, this is a horrible place to work. Worse than Cisco. Why do so many leave Cisco and come here but leave after a year. Some go back to Cisco and some move on to other places.

PAN hired poorly. They appointed clueless ex-Cisco deadwood to leadership positions.
I left after 8 months! Most toxic culture and self absorbed ELT I have ever seen in my career. Morally corrupt ELT. When they show you who they are .. believe them. If you stay, they are not to blame - you are. Take care of yourself and your family - 1st!
It starts at the top - this means the BOD is just as bad as the ELT.
Well, finding what works best for your and your family is critical. As a white male in my 50s when I got laid off, job prospects are extremely difficult. 100s of offers as a contractor with no real benefits and no stability. I did luckily receive 3 offers while job hunting. The criteria were #1 stability #2 enough pay #3 benefits. The reason for stability is in your 50s and starting new, you are the first target and no severance. Being out of work 6-12 months at a time makes you even less valuable. I took a government job. Similar pay, much better benefits, pension. There has never been a layoff, at least where I am. The first thing approved in budget is employees. Everything else comes after that, the complete opposite of the private sector. I have realistic and achievable goals. 40 hour work weeks, accrued vacation and sick leave, similar pay, great medical benefits. Yes, my annual salary is about 20% less, but the cost of benefits makes it close to the same take home pay. But, I rarely work over 40 hours in a week and any hours over 40 is comp time. I work 44 hours, I take 4 hours off one day the next week.
Cisco recently saw a drop in operating margins from 30% to 20% and PANW recently rose to around around 12%, having been below 0% for much of the past 12 years. One is slacking and the other growing. If Cisco's operating margins go below 0 you'll experience whole new levels of pain.
Paid post to make Cisco look better
PAN is as bad as Cisco, I spent 7 years there and 2 years at Cisco now. The grass is always greener, right... It's corp America and that's it.
Just feel blessed to still have a job today. No one can perdict what's tomorrow will bring
