Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

McKesson medical surgical layoffs

McKesson made billions in revenue in Q1 but apparently that wasn’t enough? Worked here for years and was laid off today with a laughable severance. Many others as well. Management has no idea what it actually takes to get work done and the business will run itself into the ground. Buy your medical supplies on Amazon for cheaper.

As one of the many employees who was "retired" before even hitting the retirement age they went based off of age anyone one who was 55 and older and had been working for mckesson 10 years or more it is a shame how this was done many good employees in the second round who did not meet the first criteria were also let go because the company was restructuring the business, I believe they should have done this by consulting with supervisors who knew their employees work ethic and not let corporate pick and choose who was to leave i know they picked people who were making a bit more than others like myself who was only there for 10 years however they kept employees who have been there over 30 years and you know they are up there in the hourly rate so to me it doesn't make sense I also believe they should have negotiated with employees i would have been willing to take a pay cut for the next 3 years which is when i am slated to retire anyways.

Focus is strictly on medical surgical. Employees did their job as directed. ELT Stanton should be gone. He made unrealistic forecasts that hit stakeholders below the belt and hit stock. MMS should have looked at industry trends in offshoring jobs that don't really need human intervention. Pharma went through it a few years ago. People reapplied for jobs as departments shrunk. Data entry jobs were offshored. It secured a lot of other jobs and have allowed for some growth. MMS ELT was behind the eight ball and it hurt so many phenomenal employees that didn't deserve this!! News of people and business units affected still hasn't been disclosed which is disheartening as other areas could have retained great talent before it was too late. Prayers for all affected. You didn't deserve this!

How can a company that makes billions of dollars per year say that they need to cut costs by laying off employees? They are calling this strategy “shrink to grow”. What a complete joke. Call it by its real name: corporate greed.

It’s inhumane how they ended careers of 30 years plus in 3 minutes teams call.
