We have a bunch of people at Grace Hopper, others are posting pictures of large meetings. We're laying people off but we have money to send 100 people to conferences? I haven't been to a conference in over 5 years - and I'm talking about an actual tech conference for things we use/do.

A lot of the off sites are leadership getting together on how to come together and support the business differently. Also known as “what can we eliminate or consolidate to get rid of people”

WFH would make this the most efficient bank in the nation. Don't tell me that HY gives an S about efficiency. They don't and never have.
yes, there were too many events she got to go to on the company dollar, and the last one was a group of them. always posted on social media, though WF is mentioned
@1gvp+1v0UyIZn Reducing head count (and improving efficiency ratio) is about reducing expenses. What do you think it costs to send 100 people to Grace Hopper? That's easily one person salary worth of expense. It's tone deaf to show all this travel for meetings or events when we shedding people on a regular basis.
@svw+1v0UyIZn Traveling for a conference or training is not going to get approved unless you're special or your business partner will pay.
Remember when everyone was sharing their photos of trips to India? Gee- I’m glad you’re having fun while you meet my cheap replacement.
The strategy to reduce the expense ratio should be to reduce all unnecessary operating expenses while getting the same or improved results. It is considered highly inappropriate for executives to be traveling when laying off employees as it can be seen as insensitive and out-of-touch, and can damage the company’s reputation and image. Then again, Wells Fargo’s reputation is already in the toilet, and Charlie has been insensitive and out-of-touch since he started.
Anyone complaining about expenditures like this doesn’t understand neither business nor the fact that Wells Fargo is NOT hurting for income.
The layoffs are not to reduce expenses because it is broke. They are to increase efficiency and become more inline with peer headcount’s.
If it takes us 25% more headcount than our peers to perform as terribly as we are, what does that tell you about how inefficient we are?
Why would you need to go to an in person conference when we have all these tools to work remotely. With Teams it’s like you are sitting next to someone who is on the other side of the country. Oh, wait, we’re better together.
That’s weird, when the director of my group comes to town he has to pay out of his own pocket to have a team dinner.
wah!!! If you haven't been to a conference in 5 years maybe you should ask you boss if you can go to one .
These are perks of being a leader and carrying the weight of the deadweight employees. You jokers are just jealous. if you can’t say something nice please just go sit at your desk and pass away quietly to someplace nice.
The execs are either
a. out-of-touch with reality, or
b. crooks
I’m leaning towards
c. out-of-touch crooks
