I got so fed up with L3 that I’m beginning to see the possibility of being laid off as a blessing, not a doom. I’ve been looking around a bit, and there actually are other job opportunities. I just wouldn’t mind being paid to leave. After all, I’ve been here for a while and I always took my job seriously. Getting something extra in return would be nice before I’m gone.

It is a lot "easier" to look for a replacement while you are gainfully employed, you have leverage, use it, this place will keep changing with or without you and most likely in unfavorable ways.
A livable paycheck is always better than no paycheck.
L3 is a cr-ppy place to work now
Like the Greenville site
5 years no new contract, last bids were not awarded
In the past the old L3 would make sure contracts would be signed
Now at 4 to 5 hundred will lose there jobs,
Plus plant closure within 24 months
NO WORK NO NEED FOR EMPLOYEES
Thanks L3 Harris pc of sh t
While I was still at L-3 I thought the worst thing that could happen would be getting laid off.
The next worst thing would be NOT getting laid off.
I know many feel the same way but will never admit it. The work environment (Waco) is very toxic and unhealthy. There is a negative almost evil energy that you can cut with a kn--e.
I feel the exact same way. Having a severance for a cushion while I look for something else would be great.
If you are not happy...leave. Well find a new and better job first of course. I used to feel as if I had to stay, I was important, part of a team. When you leave, your void will be taken up by others and a few months later, nobody will even remember you or what you did.
Yes. I agree. Not enough to volunteer yet, but close. I have a few months until my pension will be locked in for starting as early as 60, but I definitely felt this.
