There is so much nepotism here. The job description does not match the interview questions, you can be super qualified and your resume and experience matches the job description and more. You can have glowing letters of recommendation from current and former managers. You can demonstrate how you’re currently doing the work but I’m the end you will not be selected. This organization is so unprofessional. Internal Mobility is a joke. They like to silo you in and then sc--w with your pay. This is not good for one’s mental health.

I realized how bad this place was a few years ago. I applied for a b4 position that I knew I was 150% qualified for. I was scheduled for an interview a week later. During that time there was somebody else telling people that they were asked by their manager if they were interested in the position. They didn't apply for it but the manager said the posting was just a formality. Several other people applied for the job or were in the process of interviewing while the person that was just offered the job without applying or interviewing was walking around bragging about getting the job. They were the least qualified for this job as well. I then realized that these b4 jobs were just handouts to the best a## kis## and the postings were just a scam every time. Discusting.

Unfortunately, I worked at Bank of America for six months. Bank of America is the most incompetently run financial institution in the United States. The level of incompetence is so serious, it's absolutely astounding! Management consists of mostly self-absorbed unqualified DEI hires with overblown egos, the HR department is a joke, and white males at levels below senior management are scorned, sneered at, abused, and treated with contempt. If you are a white male, apply to some other institution. This place doesn't want you as a part of their "inclusive" community! You might also want to think about banking somewhere else too.

It’s also about the money. You may be making more now than the other job is able to give you. Went through that myself. Clearly qualified, clearly supported by all, but knowing the salary for the role compared to mine, they went in a different direction, which was fine with me.

Our team has been conducting interviews and there are a tremendous amount of internal applicants. They may not be suggesting that you are not qualified, but simply that many others are as well. Please don’t get discouraged. I am sure managers wish they could hire everyone because most folks on the team are doing the job of 3 people… We just can’t get approval to open additional roles.

The job postings are fake for the most part. Just there to check the box. This is no longer a company to plan your career and expect to get ahead with dedicated hard work and putting in your time. The time will be a wasted period of your career. If you can make a change to be a lying phony and pretend that you worship your manager and treat your peers like garbage and take credit for everything your team does, you may get noticed by your phony incompetent manager and get ahead someday. If you can't do this, plan your career somewhere else.
