Bread did nothing illegal and they are not going under. Sadly they are doing what corporations do...outsourcing to save money. They usually lay off the hirer wage earners first even if you are a great employee. Elly from Bread told me they only kept the best of the best. I almost started laughing. Just wait til they lay off more supervisors and managers and they deserve it. No one's job is safe there.

There are good jobs out there with better or equal benefits. Look for Call Center Representatives jobs at any health and medical establishment. I was fired from Bread and after 3 days got a job making more money.

The jobs aren't going to Bangalore. Those are actual employees of Bread. The jobs are going to third party contractors in Mexico, Jamaica, India, etc. because the company won't have to pay them anything else beyond worked time for pennies on the dollar. No benefits, training, bonuses, etc. and they can hire/fire with ease when times gets busy and slow.

Entry level collections is probably next based off of the new teams being put together if you just check out the ranking reports.

Upper upper crust went to India within the past month. Probably to ramp up and amp up the employees for more work coming down the pike. I think this wasn't a sudden thing. Anyone ever notice you're expected to give two weeks notice as an employee but the employer gives you, what, an hour??

Last post is a lie/exaggeration. Everyone gets it. Your feelings are hurt and rightfully so but use your brain. Do you really think a multi billion dollar company is going to mass lay off 500 associates and not have that reviewed and approved by legal prior to doing so? There is nothing illegal with what they did. It was just a really cr-ppy thing they did. And then tried to give everyone lip service by attempting to bow wrap a pile of p-o. The company is trying to manage "expenses" but don't worry I am sure XLT, their spouses and friends will all be at the superbowl again for the 3rd year on company dime. But don't worry!!! It's already "budgeted for". Or that $6MM bonus will still be direct deposited into their bank accounts come end of February/ early May. Maybe Val can buy stock in her newports cigs.

The associates that were kept was not because of performance or ranking , there were kept because there on some kind of corrective action & there lying , because what they are doing is not right & I’m pretty sure it’s not ethically legal .

If you were let go so was your manager. They keep saying it was because of metrics but it was to outsource most of the ones that got laid off were seniority and reviews were just around the corner

I am happy I was chosen to no longer work there. I was so tired of the abuse of our customers calling in so entitled. I was called so many names by these women and men (that weren’t paying their bills) and they don’t even know me. Then the company asks the same customers to survey me and then held it against me because I didn’t do what the company policies say I can’t do. I am sick of not being considered a human being and not a robot without feelings. It su-ks I have to find another job but it’s a blessing to me right now!!

I was there 15 years. Always ranked at the top, not only on my team, but throughout all of customer care. It seems like these terminations, not layoffs, were completely random in who was let go and who was kept. I was notified via email. Really?!? Also, if you take another job before 60 days are up, you lose your severance pay. This company treats its loyal, long term employees terribly. I wonder if the employees in Bangladesh will be treated any better?

15-20 supervisors were also let go. If you were laid off, likely your Supervisor was as well.

Those who did not get laid off also have concerns. We wish you the best future and hope you find an employer that truly appreciates you. And yes some supervisors were laid off too

So sorry how they handled this and the timing. Eventually everything goes back to people one way or another. Hope you all find better jobs and better pay with a company that really appreciates the employees

Your supervisor may have been let go as well. I am sure there were supervisors that are being let go as well

It is a staggered layoff for all customer service which is being out sourced to their already existing offshore call centers. Bread has been in the decline since Ralph A. took over. Always down playing client losses and having care reps do multiple jobs minus the pay.

Go to bread financial.con go financials and check out how they just borrowed 700 million from JP Morgan. The writings on the wall they wanted to report earning for the Quarter and this so how they did it.

Yep… happened to me today and I’m super annoyed. Supervisor conveniently takes off for a week and we learn about the lay-off via a strange pre-recorded meeting. The women giving the message looked extremely sad and robotic… like they hated every minute of their job. Right before the holidays… I have zero respect for how this was handled.

That company has been going down for a while and will continue to go down. People should get out while they can. It’s ruthless what they do to their employees and customers.

I understand that they will be sending most all Comenty Bank customers sensitive information like SS DOB and all info offshore to other countries that do not have the same laws as USA. Very scary banks can do this without customer s knowledge
