People. Verizon connect is another white elephant. Come on. It makes no money. It’s a joke. It had its run, put it out of pasture. Last be honest here, 5g hasn’t paid off. All these use cases were a joke. It all comes down to the phone were the market is saturated and maybe fixed wireless. The rest of that departments can be sent packing.
Did they offer standard severance or enhanced (VSP)?
Cuts coming for auto.
Looks like the vast majority of the New Zealand Verizon Connect team will be out of the business by the end of the year
I'm not sure how widespread layoffs were. I know that not enough people took VSP. I also know that I was contacted by a leader and asked if any of my employees might consider a VSP package. I didn't realize that it wouldn't be voluntary or that I would be impacted. My team is safe. But I was not. I have a higher level of skill, make less than them but after only 90 days in role I got the ax (but 20+ years of loyal service - including several relocations)
