Today is really the last day till 2025 for a Rif. I'm wondering if anything will happen today just based on so many other large rifs plus vsp. Hopefully everyone is safe and can enjoy the holidays. Strange feeling today though...

People have gotten RIF'd in Dec at VZ for years.
And to be honest, if it's going to happen anyway, it's the best time to get rif'd. You go out at the end of Dec, and most if not all the separation $$ will show up in Jan of the following year. That keeps you in a lower tax bracket, and if you were going to max out SS; instead of losing the excess credit, it will all count for the following year. (You'll be glad for that when you start to collect SS)
