It feels like everyone’s doing their own thing, and the structure just makes it harder to get stuff done. It’s tough to find teamwork when the whole setup feels like a maze.

Welcome to Bank of America!
But seriously, why should it be any other way?
What do you know about the functioning of a large bank in the modern economy, society, and political climate?
Why assume anything less than "However the modern world came about is a necessary outcome of past events"?
I respectfully disagree. I guess I have reached the point of being called an old dog, boomer, aged, etc, but I'm none of those. Biologically I am older than most of my peers. I don't look down at them, in fact I want new ideas. I am still young at heart and I refuse to grow up. I'm quickly reaching the point where I have worked half of my life for one company and I am still happy here. I didn't drink the kool-aid and I have no signs of dementia yet. All I ask of anyone at BAC is respect. If you engage me in a positive and meaningful chat, then we can work on changing things. On the other hand if we meet and the first thought in your head is "boomer",then we have a few issues. First, lack of respect. Second, you have probably been groomed to think you are better than others. Third, please use the term "boomer" in the correct context. Fourth, if you refuse to open your mind and change your ways, life will be rough regardless of where you go.
DEI has really messed things up. Granted the bank wasnt perfect, but DEI really shifted how this place functions. There was a time that we did have fun and was able to build relationships, and people really communicated to get the job done, not so much now. A slice of pizza doesn’t cut it as appreciation. Nor does allowing leadership to just sit in title and not know the role, but way too busy trying to get noticed on F scape. People volunteer ALOT do extra DEI group events, etc just so they don’t have to do their actual job. But THEY are the ones getting the most recognition. We are here to do a job first and foremost, then the volunteering and fun stuff.
Hopefully the tides will change and get back to common sense. Let’s do the job and take care of customers with the care and knowledge they deserve.
When your paycheck dries up (replaced by automation/AI), you will miss these old farts who protect your a-s and keep this schilthole running.
We are so outta here. Countin' the days.
I hope you get what you wish for. Welcome to your nightmare.
I will say ever since covid I have seen lots of folks 20,25 and 30 plus years of service leave the bank. The bigger issue with future of banking and the chance of advancement lies in AI and consolidation. Ai in the future will diminish and eliminate job roles. Consolidation of banking centers and combining large groups like BB and Small Biz into one are good examples. Older folks are leaving in droves as this is not the bank they signed up for.
I totally agree with you. The problem with this bank they have a lot of old heads still there and been with the company 20+ years doing do same job. The culture is fu---d up because the top dogs allow that. There is no room for improvements and to grow. They need to do house cleaning.
