Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Ship of fools

This leadership is literally braindead. They must know that nobody respects them anymore, right?

Pretty sure they don't care. Just like I don't care, that they hate me for quiet quitting. Its mutual.

The real issue is that T moved to sell $70/month widgets and away from solutions that bring in real revenue. A move to consumer service

Wall Street likes it at first but to afford it T must drastically lower costs. The lowering costs part is firing employees.

Once lowering costs and selling low income widgets fails, and it will, T will.be forced to sell assets and big bonuses go to the top.

This is the plan. Take the severance and GTFO while you can.

T is a sinking ship.

OP- Maybe having your respect is not very high on their list.

They care what the institutional investors think and that’s it. Customers? Fungible and we can always get more. Employees? Expenses all, easily replaced in India. Service? Eh, as long as people complain about VZ and TMUS service as well, we’re fine. The clown suite attention is focused on whatever vaporware they can get Citibank or JPM to swallow.

I’m sure they don’t care. They get paid very well. The few I’ve met that actually care find themselves out the door sooner than later. Sambar was a good example. I’m sure he pushed back, as did Bawcum and others. They are all retiring.

Folks at these levels speak up, they just get demoted, reassigned, or fired when they do.

"That’s exactly the problem. Since none of the L3/L4/L5 speak up leadership thinks this is great and people are receptive. It’s an echo chamber of bullsh-t at the top.

When you live in an echo chamber, reality is skewed. Leadership thinks they are great because they all tell themselves they are.

I don’t respect them or trust them at all anymore. Time to put the gloves on, they started the fight.
