Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Feb culling

If it comes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes and it’s massive, it’s better to start looking for another job now. Staying with Optum for too long is not good for anybody's health anyway. This may as well be the incentive to look for greener pastures and a job that will not chew you up and sp-t you out at random.

It's definitely coming, but it's not going to be any bigger than normal. If you consistently get 4-5's you will be fine

This happened 4-5 yeas ago right before the bonuses - it’s a horrible business scheme they split the raise funds to people who will be leaving instead of more to people staying.

I was caught in the Oct. 17 RIF after 18 years and all I can say is I’ve never been happier. Feels like I was paid (handsomely) to quit and I got to leave that toxic environment behind.

In my years as a leader. There was one crucial quality I needed to have. Regardless if I was leading a group of little leaguers, a battalion or some business unit. If we were going to exceed our ability as a group the one MOST important thing was, "I needed their respect" . Without that, everything else would be useless and go into a black hole.

I’m hearing another big across the board from all business units coming in Feb. lists with ages and titles already circulating. Don’t know how big or exactly who is being targeted.
