Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

December layoffs

We had them last year, and I'm betting you we'll have them again this holiday season. Nothing gives Nike leadership more satisfaction than being able to sc--w over employees at the worst possible time. A few days ahead of Christmas sound just about right.

@3nxa+1vLIRuFc - IMO 60% or more of GT is already outsourced to consulting companies.
your wish will come true and only make the hurt worse.
GT will be left with deal maker VP's and pretty decks showcasing shades of lipstick on pigs.

You done talking now buddy? Lets see how long you last before you need us for tech support. I would keep your mouth shut next time. @3nxa+1vLIRuFc

Hey @1oaw+1vLIRuFc, that’s how 90% of the rest of the company feels about GT.

Y’all are a bunch of drama queens who act like the Nike universe revolves around GT when in reality GT is just another supporting function that the rest of us (you know, 90% of employees) don’t ever think about and don’t care about.

Actually, I shouldn’t say we NEVER think about you. You do come up often when conversations start with these questions: “Why are Nike’s tech systems so bloody awful and 20 years behind the times? How come so many of our tech support people don’t seem to have any clue what they’re doing? And why has the “help desk” long been referred to as the “hurt desk”?” Oh, it’s because whenever you touch our tech equipment it gets returned to us in worse shape than when we gave it to you.

Nike is a marketing and product company. If we could just outsource the entirety of GT we wouldn’t have to keep listening to your incessant whining. Maybe in that case we’d even be so lucky as to have functioning tech resources for a change! Lolz.

I’m pretty sure you look at any team you can think of a few people who would not be missed if layoffs happen.

Leadership and consulting firms know this.

A lot of whiners here think they are entitled to their jobs.

Do your job.

it's not hard to understand
is the economy getting better or worse
if it is not getting better people will choose to buy cheaper stuff
is nike's clothing high end or low end

Even if OP is speculating, it's his/her/their opinion. By insisting there won't be a layoff , you sound like HR convincing folks of the lies and executing the opposite.

Layoffs in small pockets are on-going since 2020 and have never really stopped. Only the big layoffs are in news due to the large numbers and other required notices.

Some of us were not aware of layoffs last Dec either until after those happened. There were layoffs in Oct-Nov last year as well that some of us found from linkedin posts.

Let's stop name calling and asking people to suusssshhhh, just ignore and move on or don't.

I wish Nike was able to track down all these Nike trolls and fire them immediately. I know I'm not the only one. Nike is done laying off people for now especially because of the holidays. So stop saying that Nike is laying off people as we speak. It makes no sense.

It’s every 2 years, this December is leadership rotation, next year is slowly putting the plans in place and next December will be the next reorg
