Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

DODGE

Many people admire how Elon managed X, streamlining operations and improving efficiency. Do you think a similar overhaul is needed at Fidelity, akin to DODGE?

In HR, Talent and tech there are individuals in VP/SVP roles drawing high compensations but making minimal contributions to overall outcomes.
There are GCLs/CLs /GSLs in tech who come from HR backgrounds. Many of them can't even write a basic 'Hello World' program.

Beyond frontline managers and individual contributors, mid-to-senior-level employees (G8 and above) often add little value to discussions, with many unsure of their roles.

Having worked across various BUs for the past 12 years, I can confidently say that letting go of G8 and above would have negligible impact. While a few G7+ employees do contribute, most are disconnected from day-to-day work and add limited value

The last poster should really consider changing news sources and getting outside of the echo chamber, every paragraph was filled with mis- and dis-information.

Si--y Spacex managed X? He turned $44 BILLION into $9.4 BILLION. He's su-kling on federal contracts and federal EV regulatory credits.

DOGE? How about Doesn't Offer Great Experiences? How in the heck can you cut $2T from a discretional budget of $1.7T? When Ronald Reagan tried to cut spending over 30 years ago they failed after two years. There wasn't much to cut.

And it ain't about cutting. They want to privatize or move to the states. Yeah. Alabama is going to fund programs. Right.

Even the Cybertruck is laughing at him. There's video of one stuck in a parking spot with a little snow. Survivalist vehicle indeed.

Fidelity has tons of non-performing directors and up. Problem is that they are absolute experts at managing up. So, they never get released.

Fidelity is so top heavy in areas. I can’t imagine this goes for much longer. Either a VBO is in order, or a blood bath of old heads within two years.

DOGE or DODGE aside, look up or around yourself on the org chart, isn't OP's observations accurate? Unfortunately the ones who know have no power and the ones with power has no motivation, gut and insights to make the DOGE kind of cuts.

This is the most ironic post I've seen in awhile. Attention to detail is not your strong suit, I see. Please get a clue before you start deciding who is not contributing.

There is really no excuse for you to be so stupid and clueless, as someone who works for a financial services company that’s into crypto, not to realize it’s effing DOGE. So ironic. I can’t.

DOGE. Dodge is a car or an evasive movement.

While I agree that there are many areas for improvement? Many people is an overstatement for the amount of people that admire Elon, much less his management of X. He has single handledly managed to alienate his customer base (advertisers), his revenue generator (users), and engagement generators (influencers). People have limited time (source: reality) and if they competitors are gaining users that can only mean that he is losing engaged users. The reality is that he is running Twitter so poorly that you begin to wonder how we was able to dupe so many investors into thinking he's remotely competent to run other businesses. https://futurism.com/the-byte/change-twitter-elon-musk-panicking-bluesky
