Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Village Id--t appointed Mayor

All the Upstream and Downstream people that I have talked to agree with the title.

It is like a person that is proven unqualified to lead a homeless encampment is promoted to leading a major city. Prosperity and success will not be the outcome.

Post your analogy below.

After the announcement XOM stock dropped 3% in one day. Way to go Darren. What a great way to create value for the shareholders. Clearly you must be some sort of Jack Welch management genius. Mo--n.

In East Texas, he is called a post turtle. If you see a turtle on a fence post it's because someone put him there. He did not get there on his own.

Dan had to Google “Upstream” just after accepting the job.

Same as Darren when he became CEO.

It's like putting the help desk operator in charge of a SpaceX mission. Prepare for, 'Have you tried turning the rocket off and on again?'"

Yes it continues at levels at exxon. Only the yes people will be promoted regardless of talent or skills. It s like putting lipstick on a pig. It is very demotivating to work at such a place. The people who can just come do the work and not think about the dysfunction can survive mentally. If you think about the truth it will destroy you and will need mental help. It is not a fair place to work at.
