Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Seriously....

FK this company. MD, JC, BS.... they hate us. FK this dumpster fire of a company. 20+ years service means nothing. I'm so disheartened right now.

Well said...

"It’s trashed my mental health, and the cost of living in this new corporate nightmare has dismantled the rest of it. I’m hollowed out and tired. Don’t tell me “it’s just a job” it’s so much more than that. I say all of this while I’m in a town hall while they pretend to be hype and do trivia. My only thought is that “god is dead” the entire time this goes on. Giving away Stanley Mugs while morale implodes."

"Your biggest mistake in your career was staying at the same company too long."

Change that to staying at Dell too long.
You'd be very wealthy if you were at a FANG for 20y.

VSP? You all must be lifers. No one owes you a package. It’s sad if that’s what you’re sticking around for. The lifers actually have no idea how other corporations operate and you actually have it pretty good at Dell. Your biggest mistake in your career was staying at the same company too long. You get stale. Use the education credits and acquire skills you can use outside of Dell. Quit complaining and move on. Layoffs, do more with less happen everywhere.

"Why don’t you just leave?"

agree with your sentiment. Plenty are ready to leave for sure.
Dell should bring back the VSP
So all that is left is die hard loyalist manning the decks.

Why don’t you just leave? Nothing is stopping you from going somewhere else except you.

Dell popped me after 24 years in the big summer layoff. I was doing excellent work and working my a-s off out of fear of losing my job. In retrospect, it turned out to be a lifesaving move, because i didn't even realize how abjectly miserable i was in that place. It's so different to be in a company that is competing and growing with a strategy that doesn't just hinge on WFR and butchering US-based tenured employees.

I left Dell in 2016 after giving them 20 years and they were a dumpster fire back then, and had been since the mid 2000's. They were never any good after that first huge layoff in the early 2000's. I tried to get back in to Dell in 2017, but I got 100% ghosted. 20 years I gave to them and all I still have to show for it is the various mental concerns I deal with day in day out - they're the reason I got grey hair in my late 20s

I am sorry this is happening to you.
But had you kept your eyes opened the last 5y you would realise it was always a dumpster of a company
