It's happened in the past - protesters actually got INTO the Mason office. In this current atmosphere I am literally afraid to go to a centralized location where we are easier targets for some nutjob like the one who ki-led the UHC CEO.

There's bullet holes in the windows at the nearest PP a couple times a year at least. The company still requires people to work in office.
I am a bit nervous about going into the office, but I don’t think the normal employees have anything to fear with being targeted otherwise being laid off. I am guessing that those in the C suites who are probably not coming in should be more concerned if there was a copycat.
Colleague asked about this earlier, and senior leader said of course would never pressure anyone to do something that made them feel unsafe. Finally admitted policy hasn't changed though.
I remember when the protestors got into Mason 1, and after that the security doors changed to the revolving kind. Then the next year security was on high alert looking for the protestors to target Mason again, but it didn't happen.
Back in the day (>20 years) we actually had several fist fights break out on the floor between associates. No one got fired, they were just sent to anger management classes.
That guy is in the wind by now
I bet when this guy is caught we will find out that he or one of his loved ones were denied health services they really needed by UHC. Or was bankrupted because UHC denied claims they should’ve been paying. It is going to be interesting for sure.
OK but was the guy REALLY a “nut job” 🤔
Are you kidding? Leadership doesn't care about our personal welfare. Isn't that already obvious? Besides, one less of us for any reason is one less person they have to rif and pay out Supp to.....
Same! I asked a question regarding this today and got a non-answer. “We take associate safety very seriously” but no answer on any increase in security at offices or change to any policies.
I remember when that happened and was on the fourth floor at Mason. I am RIFd as of Dec 13 after 16 years and all of this chaos makes me wonder if it's an industry I should feel lucky to get out of.
You will have to go in. Your leaders will not!
I agree 100%! It was just stupid before but now it's scary as well.
