Do not wish anything bad on anyone, but would not be surprised if execs @ EM were targeted and etched into casings were “NSI”, “PIP”, “PIL” and “WAEM”. The situation with the UnitedHealth Care CEO is alarming and it’s interesting to see how many have what is being called “morbid glee.”
At what point do executives take notice (and action) of the way their decisions, “structural improvements” and “policies” are causing significant harm to others? Easy to say, “you don’t like it - go get another job!” (Or insurance policy!) But, this is a systemic issue - the wealth gap is spreading at a disturbing rate and a lot of people are losing their savings / livelihoods / careers so the richest among us can increase their own payouts. It’s just not right and I can see how people can snap.
And by the way, for all the complaining going on: the insurance offered by EM is still a heck of a lot better than most companies out there. So that is calculated into your benefit package and loss you take if/when you leave. The first year I left EM, I was making less money AND was hit with a $12,000 medical bill b/c of a high deductible.
So yeah, I probably wouldn’t feel much sadness for some of the folks that made the work environment so toxic I decided to leave three years before becoming RE: if they were to be struck by a bus in their luxury vehicle after dropping their kids off at private school, while on the way to the country club while wearing designer clothes and a Rolex.
