Supervisor and managers playbook. Don't be fooled by them as they don't care.

During my discussions with master I always notice it’s like they are following a script. When I was given my big zero raise it looked at me like it cared and was worried about my career and feelings. I call the supervisor it because that is what it is an unfeeling thing. There was no sincerity in anything they said. It had the audacity to suggest I work harder in the next year to get a better raise next year. Say .01 percent instead of 0. Know your enemy and the supervisors and managers are our enemies. Never forget this and don't trust them. They are transparent and one dimensional. My master is obsessed in moving up and I may not be one to help them. They are all out to advance and will do anything to get there. I was offered a move before the raise for my benefit. It was so adamant about my performance and career advancement. It has been pushing positions to me constantly. I know why because of the 0 raise it is worried that I will not work hard and advance their plan. Basically I will make them look bad and be a low performer. This it pushes their people to work extra hours and do more by fear and intimidation. It will not work with me as I am older and NRE. My handler is a young one and did not know what NRE was. Clueless as they are only worried about their situation and status. A contractor was not working to its standards and since it would make the master look bad they were fired. Only loyal minions are wanted by the masters they need allies who document and disclose information about others. I was asked by the master about other workers. I did not play the game so I guess I am out. At my age I cannot excel or drop. I am in stasis waiting to be pushed out. So do the opposite of what they want and don t give them an inch. The position I was to be moved to was worse than my current one and would involve a move to another site. Be sure to ask questions and check out any potential new positions or sites. A friend of mine was given a wonderful opportunity which turned out to be horrible. They are stuck there because no one wanted the position. The place was more dysfunctional and toxic than the place they moved from. I love the do you have any concerns, comments or questions for me. The script is the same for all of them. Statements like I am worried about your future and career, I am thinking for the best fit for you, this move would be good for you, I don't want you to fail are all BS. I used to believe them 20 years ago like a fool but not anymore. I see the young ones eating it up and hoping to advance and follow in their masters footsteps. Look at their actions not the words as the words are lies and for their own benefit only. You are a pawn their game of advancement. You would be surprised at how many want to be the next dareen woodstock. I think the masters will try to move a lot of people out of their groups to cut the demotivated individuals. Heed my warning as it almost happened to me and has happened to others.

The worst was back in 2000 we had an employee that had cancer. The engineers and supervisors were all worried about the work getting done. They disparaged this individual on the smoking and obesity that possibly caused their cancer. There was no compassion or sincerity from these saints. They were just concerned about what was going to happen to their eads. The cancer patient got treatments and was sick for a lot of the time. Me and the other techs helped out with the work. The employee with cancer got worse and was out for most of the next year. There was even more hate and vitriol from the bosses against the caner patient. The guy died a couple of years later at 48 years.

Very wise words, and I wish you the very best for a smooth sail to retirement and beyond!

Another catchphrase they use when trying to con you into believing that they're advocating for you is, "I want to see you succeed." Whenever I've heard that, it's always been a precursor to them trying to find ways to shove me out. I even had one sr. mgr. tell me, "People don't like it when you're honest with them, they don't want to hear it." LOL
