Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

The Fix Is In

The posts over the past year have highlighted the many issues with the Board, management, and lack of competitive, differentiated products. Many would like to see this once-great company return to some level of market success; however ... the "fix" is in from the Board and management.

Both the Board and Management are complicit in their collective efforts to drain the coffers to line their pockets - the only real threat to their scheme is a shareholder action, a lawsuit (what happened to the class action suits mentioned earlier this year?), or a hostile take-over. It's clear they don't care about what others think, what the customers are saying or what the market/analysts say ... they are on the gravy-train and there is NO reason to change.

Customers leaving in droves. Product light years behind competitors. Revenue shrinking in a booming AI market. Employee satisfaction at all time lows. ELT enriching themselves at the expense of rank and file employees.

It doesn't take one to be Einstein to understand that the inevitable is incoming.

The product is stale, services are dated and engineering ceased to exist. Financial maneuvering is all that is left at TDC. Still no reason to be bitter, hope no one is.

Settled out of court with what $$$?

The Teradata faithfulls need to get outside their bubble and literally see how far behind the product has become.

There were few threads in TD forum regarding a class action. This thread had seen most comment.

If you were referring to these comments, there is an ongoing process in southern district of CA. The latest order was earlier this month. A lead plaintiff was identified. No idea what course it will take. These suits happen all the time and usually settled outside the court.

OP here - I mentioned "lawsuit" because a while ago there were threats of class-action lawsuits against the LT for misleading remarks about future earnings. From what I can tell, no one stepped up to be the lead plaintiff - but I'm not sure. That's why I asked the rhetorical question about "lawsuits?"

Neither criminal nor genius, average opportunists. When the pay stops, they will adjust again. Don't see any wrong with folks trying to make the best of their current situation.

OP, did you say lawsuit? Very little can be done against a business. Even less, by the emotion due to loss of employment. Any one here believes otherwise? Its just a job. Helps pay bills. The world is still the same, tad different maybe but not quite messed up.

This couldn’t be more accurate. The number of employees at this company who do no real work is sad but at the same time it’s also a strategy for some. Teradata is like a SugarCompany for these individuals, no different than any other and they are riding the past value down to the ground. Criminal or genius? In todays messed up world I’m not sure….

Just continually expose how uneducated and ill-equipped they are to be in their positions across the social platforms. Continual pressure exposing their flaws is what is needed. Those who have suffered under their supposed leadership deserve to be honored

Great points.

They do care, just from a different perspective. Whoever is on the gravy train, are enjoying the ride. Little work, no accountability, steady pay - what is not to like?

I am sorry for those who lost their job. Support, thoughts and prayers.
