Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Inefficient system

When I started at Honeywell, I didn’t expect to figure out within just a few months that ten percent of the people do 90 percent of the work - at least in my area. It’s like there are several managers for every single worker, and the balance between the two just doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s no wonder the entire place feels so completely out of sync.

And .... there are those of us just sitting back and watching the train wreck. I'm expecting a spectacular finish.

You're experiencing the harsh reality of any organization and a fundamental law of the universe, from sports teams to companies.

See: "Pareto Principle"

10% of any population renders 90% of the merits and successes of that group. Just a fact of life.

the good news, I suppose is the smarter older folks with marketable skills figured that out already and have left and taken the good people with them when possible. The even better news is the (smarter) younger new hires are also figuring that out and are only staying a year or 2. I know since I keep getting their resumes, consistently.

Before I got CANNED it was 1 Worker for every 100 slackers. They thought I was a slacker even though I worked 60 hours a week and no OT premium.
