I think it’s coming. Had to use/loose vacation by the end of the year. No bonus until February. Big HR meeting in SAV third week in January and I heard GD was in town this week, perhaps going over final numbers of who to cut??

The WARN ACT doesn't apply. You have to let go over 500 employees in order for that to matter and since Contractors are not GAC employees so they do not count towards the 500.

A senior leadership member confirmed layoffs will occur in the end of January beginning of February. Engineering, quality, procurement, and BT will be hit hard- 10%. Completions, Service and Operations are good to go. The WARN act requirements are below:

Certain situations trigger the WARN Act in Georgia. These are listed below.

  1. Plant closings affecting 50 or more employees for at least 30 days.
  2. Mass layoffs involving at least 500 full-time employees.
  3. Mass layoffs involving at least 50 full-time employees, constituting 33% or more of the employer’s workforce.
  4. Plant closings or layoffs extended over 90 days.

At the moment, there is no official documentation that there are layoffs coming. WARNS, a federal program that requires employers to file layoffs with at least 60 days notice, does not currently have an entry from Gulfstream at the time of writing. Granted they could violate the law, but it's a very easy employment law case for them to get sued on; the only exception being unforseen major circumstances such as a 'plague' (COVID). Many people suggest that a RIF is underway behind closed doors, but it's more likely that contractors will receive the majority of this impact, as it would appear many are reporting their contracts not getting renewed. Unfortunately they don't get the same privilege of advance notice that direct hires do.

Hopefully this eases your worries. It'd be pretty unwise for Mark Burns to axe a bunch of people with the backlog of aircraft right now, although I certainly wouldn't put it above him. Not the greatest CEO in the books.
