Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Anyone get assigned a training on salary and employee expectations?

One of my zero percent friends just told me they and few other zero percenters got assigned a new training course. They said the course was something like Salary and employee expectations. They haven t taken it yet so we don t know what it is about. It is as if the course appeared out of no where. The others who got raises have not been assigned this course.

This goes to show there are a few hardcore negative people posting 80% of the nonsense on here.

Some advice for the speculators with a sense of doom — get a life. No one is coming to rescue you, no one care about how bad you feel, how unfair things are.

Life is way too short to carry on like you do.

If you hate ExxonMobil just leave. Nothing or no one is perfect. In fact most people are terrible and broken so why do you expect heaven at a large corporation?

Please find a better way to live your life.

I got a 14% raise and RSUs and was scheduled to attend the training. I don't understand what people are complaining about. If you didn't get a raise, it will explain why and what you need to do this year. There is a test after the training to ensure you understand the fair process. I recommend everyone attend the training, especially those who are not thrilled with their raise.

Was this training only assigned to those who got zero raise? Feels like it was.

Lots of theme of people blaming others... Sure there are lots of sh---y people at work but many are genuine and nice. If you are having issue with EVERYBODY (oh no one talk to me, people scare of me, I'm excluded from conversation) perhaps you should honestly pause and self reflect.

Training is assigned on career connect for everyone... Those who claims they don't get assigned perhaps need to check their career connect

This is new and it told me i asked for it to explain the non raise Sc--wing. The training was basically a propaganda tool to make us think we deserved the non raise we got. I feel better now and think I should get a pay cut. I should work harder and I will get a better raise next year maybe .63 % instead of 0. Employees that got no raise or very small insulting raises are the only ones who got the training. I know the system and the training is the same BS. It was a complete waste of 30 minutes. It probably cost 250 dollars of my billable time to do it.

They must have missed me as I was new this year to the Exxon circus. Still waiting for my one year anniversary raise. I might have been out traveling when they gave the training. I got the same salary computer training assigned to me a few days ago and it due by the end of the year. If I had found this board before I accepted the offer I might have been working somewhere else. First impressions of Exxon, people are defiantly not helpful nor friendly, systems are outdated and slow, too much useless training about common sense, not enough training on the complex insane systems such as MOC, request, SAP, can defiantly feel bias and favorites during meetings. I give Exxon a 3 out of 10. I will give it at least 3 years to build experience and then probably leave. Problem is I am not on any projects that have any thing to do with engineering. They put me on data analysis and the united way. I am being paid to bug people to donate to the UW. Who ever said the guy in the other post could not make friends was the problem is wrong. No one talks to me unless it is about work or what they need. The clubs have formed and I am not able to join. People are very to the point, dry and almost afraid of me.

Yes. Everyone was assigned this training not just zero raise people. Even those with raises were given Pennie’s. This is what Darren is referring to when he says structural savings over and Over again. One out of three employees received no raise this year and the average raise was 4%

I never did or attended one. I also never attended the workplace harassment training. I guess I am the best employee even though I got a big fat zero.
