Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

More Layoffs Next Week

It wouldn't surprise me if 50-75 people get canned next week right before Christmas. Yesterday's fat trimming is just the beginning. The company needs to get down to roughly 850 employees to be viable as an on going entity. Right now, it still has 1,000 employees which is 150 more than it needs for a company its size with nearly $4B in outflows this year, and a net $2B loss. Layoffs should come from the field offices, marketing, investments division, and WPC once online withdrawals are modernized. OTDS is a joke and they can't get anything done with FIS. Farm out 25% of IT. Get rid of the CHRO and Director of Compensation who both literally do nothing and take home a combined $750K. What a pure waste !

How many employees will be laid off at Mutual of America today on December 17. To paraphrase the late great FDR: "December 17, 2024, a date which will live in infamy."

The layoff carnage begins.

Hurt the company ? How can you make such a ridiculous comment about hurting the company and axes to grind ? Overpaid inept executives have already "hurt the company" with their poor decisions and actions. It's already public in case you haven't noticed ! Actions speak louder than words and the actions of current and former inept Executives and the BOD are the only ones still hurting the company. Meanwhile, these same Executives are never held accountable and walk away with millions each in pension, 401k, and deferred comp packages. Shame on them ! What are you trying to say that all the customers who write complaints to the BBB and regulators shouldn't be complaining publicly because they are wrong and their comments hurt the company too ? Sounds like you are a current or former Executive who is carrying on with your gaslighting.

So it sounds like the Company is taking steps to get its house in order. Isn't that a good thing? Why would you post something trying to hurt the Company if you agree that it is doing what is necessary - unless, of course, you have an axe to grind?
