Middle management are the minions that allow the toxic culture to thrive. They have no employable skill set outside of XOM and thus will do anything to survive …anything. Trust no one… “Always love your country but never trust your government”

@2waa All they do is call pointless meetings, drain productivity, and approve PTO. Within a year (maybe less) there will be A.I. that can perform most middle management functions.

In the business side "middle management" runs the business. I would love to see who would do that if you further flatten the organization.

Still too many Department Heads in EMTEC , management still too heavy. Clinton shutdown will help with this .

Can’t dump middle management at Xom. These people do whatever it takes to protect themselves. That will never get legs unless it’s some sort of gaslighting downstream.

  1. It is an RTO mandate, not a WFH mandate.
  2. It is a soft layoff. All RTO mandates are.
  3. There should be no more than one manager for every ten contributors in any private company.
  4. Yes, we know anti-WFH guy…if your job can be done from home it can be done from Bangalore, or so you keep repeating here. I posted it so you don’t have to.
