Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Alvind hype destroying IBM near term

I cannot believe the BoD doesn't kick Alvind out already. All his hype is blowing in their face.

Just examples... remember how Alvind tooted helping Intel with fabs technology?

https://newsroom.ibm.com/Intel-Teams-with-IBM-for-Advanced-Semiconductor-Research-and-Development

Yes right selling the useless Research "innovations" in fab technology LOL and shortly after Intel asks Samsung for Dab help:

https://www.mk.co.kr/en/it/11146309

Samsung won't help their biggest competition of the past but... will take IBM's money ...

Same with AI or "regenerative AI" hype to justify massive RAs Alvind is tooting all over and to Modi in India.

Oh here's what is behind it probably. Layoffs of "expensive" knowledgeable US based experts and experience to replace them with monkeys in India whom will use a keyboard and a screen to pretend experts are providing customers fulfilment on infrastructure and services contracts...

Nope not working... customers are leaving IBM's nonsense hence the last Q bad results.

Why Alvind isn't fired for bad performance?

@1qxd : Not sure the investors are pleased. Check the stock price diving due to insignificant growth or negative growth perhaps in inflation adjusted dollars and infrastructure and consulting revenue diving. Why? Because hiring cheap monkeys in India to just interact with a know it all AI Watson to serve clients doesn't work. Alvind has messed big time his AI replacing experts BS. It's not just HR he's trying to RA but accross the board.

Investors should actively push to Alvind's firing and replacing the useless BoD.

If the stock price keeps declining this may happen.

Ginnie was worse yes and Warren Buffett lost a lot on his IBM investment believing the hype. But that doesn't mean waiting 10 years for Alvind to ki-l IBM completely. Should act now in my view.

The BoD said: “We hired AK to reduce costs by replacing expensive older complacent employees from NA and Europe by cheaper younger energetic ones from India, Mexico ; and we are very pleased with his performance, so are the investors “

The BoD did not fire Ginni Rometti despite her unending atrocious performance. Compared to this bar which is so low that it’s practically underground, AK is a superstar.

The BoD doesn't fire AK for the same reason they don't fire themselves. They all think the same way, and agree (more or less) on corporate direction.

This has been going on for many decades now. If the BoD wanted a real change, then they would have acted by now...but they don't.
