Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Q3 ER is out

YTD 2024 EPS of $15.72 on a GAAP basis, $18.35 on an Adjusted basis. Updates FY 2024 EPS guidance to 'at least $12.89' on a GAAP basis, 'at least $16.00' on an Adjusted basis.

This means Q4 will be a huge loss. Wonder whether this is the trick to convince shareholders to approve the potential merger with Cigna or Q4 will be really bad.

That’s not how it works

The stock's rise is likely due to an increased probability of it being sold to Cigna due to the bad Q4.

Just simple math. 12.89-15.72= - 2.83 for Q4.

That is absolutely not what it means lol. Humana has been very conservative with their EPS guidelines and has actually hit them the last 3 quarters by about 20% each time and hit revenue about 3.5% estimation.

Whether or not some people here believe it, Humana pretty financially healthy company.

Why in the he-l would good Q3 results mean bad Q4 results? This post makes absolutely no sense
