Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Joining Ford was the biggest setback in my career

I was forced to take a job here to take care of my finances and its been a steady decline since then

  • Below market pay
  • Mediocre/ checked out co workers
  • Paper pushing mentality
  • Slow progress on any projects
  • Declining stock price ( who in their right mind would want to own this sh1t stock)

Slowly realizing ill have to lie out the wazoo to get a better job.

That's funny you were "forced " to take this job. Were you held at gunpoint? You took it because it was good money. So it was your salvation. Quit crying that your finances were in the toilet before taking the job...that's your fault! Take responsibility and accountability!

You live in a free market, you are paid what you are worth. If you want it to change, complaining on this site will get you nowhere.

So why are you here complaining about it? Is there something we can do for you? Pack your lunch, wipe your b-m? What is it? What do you want?

Why work hard? Someone asks ...

Because you also work for yourself in a sense that you develop new skills which make you attractive in the eyes of other employers. If one company lays you off, you can find another job easily. It's not only paycheck but also a long term career.

It wasn’t always like this. Why work hard when you could be laid off at any moment?

It's not just the retired salaried getting treated like the ugly red headed step child. Current salaried are expendable scapegoats for mgmt

As much as I hate to say it. Trust me, if you can leave and join a different company you plan on retiring from, do it now. If you retiring soon from here you will be very, very disappointed the way salary retirees are treated. For one, they took away our health insurance. 2025 premium went up 22% which I need to pay for some howe. So much for comfortable retirement after 32 years. When joining this company 32 years ago was supposed to get health care when retired. They can do what they want with salary employed lives, and they do. Look at the vaccine mandate they forced on the non represented employees. That should tell you everything.
