Pearson Layoffs 2025

Anyone would care to chime in with a prediction about potential Pearson layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Sounds like the poster below who said more layoffs in April or May is correct. They will work them to the bone all spring and then let them go once they've closed business and/or worked their tail off all spring. That isn't unique to PSO by the way.

Omar will be sending an email on Thursday announcing the restructure and layoffs.

Re: tech/ux/product, yes, a whole team is gone.

The reorgs are rolling through VUE this week. Multiple VPs cut with more to come.

Tell me more please. It's never who it should be but I'm interested. In a general sense.

Message to the down voter: You ended inter-corporate communication when you ended Neo but employees are going to desire communication. I have been getting the we are the little people vibe over the past 2 years or so which is the opposite of the message you should be sending if you want the company to coalesce into something strong. Tone matters.

Was anyone from tech/ux/product affected?

"In other words, yes. Roles are being examined across the company by leadership and will be mapped by managers in December/January, and there will be redundancies and efficiencies."

Perhaps no more bull$h!t words have ever been uttered on the Internets. PSO is a dump.....a graveyard for talent and innovation.....and a golden calf for those who just want to stay low profile until they can retire. Life is far too short to work for a company with a hollow mission, no innovative products, and a legacy that weighs like a boat anchor. Leave while you can and let PSO decompose. Hakuna Matata.

Stopped by the building today and there was an executive meeting taking place on the 2nd floor. Rumor has it, plans are in place for a workforce reduction around April-May 2025.

Any one knows about the SMS in Pearson? I started to hear it's going to be retired soon 10 years ago. Is it still there?

Ali seems to be caught in a squirrel trap of her own incompetence.

Executives are doing a lot of patting themselves on their backs right now and the stock price is up. Sales have seemed to stabilize I’m not sure if that is more about price increases or actual marketshare gains. My bet is at some point in 2025 or 2026 sales were dip again and layoffs will continue. We still have average products at best.

Since 2019?!?! Go back a few years. Pearson has been in a perpetual state of layoffs for at least 10 years.

Pearson = Layoffs, it’s been happening since 2019 and will continue to happen once or twice a year until this place is no longer a business.
