Cost reduction efforts through lean projects, layoffs, shadow layoffs, and attrition will continue throughout the fy25. The AOPs for many departments are reduced for this year. Even if one does not get laid off, there will not be raises, bonuses etc.

All the extra senior leadership and some of the current know that Blake ruined the culture and company. He can’t hide from that. Meanwhile, he recklessly sc--wed many people’s livelihood too. He is a dirtbag. Hope he go’s down hard. But don’t count on the id--ts on the board to do anything. They are clueless or old or both.

In the last quarterly update, Blake said that MOST of the headcount actions have already taken place. Nothing like a little suspense to keep us all on the edge.

Anyone else in MKE or MEQ get the Holiday lunch invite from Becky House that was immediately canceled today? We have $$$ for a holiday lunch? I wonder if too many minions were accidentally invited.

"Meanwhile Blake said
In the most recent earnings call, Blake Moret, Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Automation, highlighted that the company's best results in fiscal year 2024 were in North America, and that China now represents less than 5% of Rockwell Automation's revenue. This suggests that the company may be shifting its focus away from China and towards other markets, such as North America, in order to drive growth and improve its financial performance."

This isn't really about the company's actual strategy, it's a signal to the incoming US administration that "we are one of the good guys". There were reminders peppered throughout the call that we are an American company and will support - or at least not oppose - the new government's protectionist policies. (However you feel about that is up to you. I imagine it's what our shareholders want to hear.)

From Ian Shih-Thanks to Forbes China 福布斯中国 and the evaluation committee for this recognition. I would also like to thank our people and our ecosystem partners for us sharing the same value and taking solid needle-moving actions. We together make a real difference and impact while elevating the value to higher dimensions.

As the world’s largest pure-play industrial automation and digital transformation company, we create outcomes that help our customers – industrial companies in more than 100 countries – to be more resilient, agile, and sustainable.”

  • Blake Moret, Chairman and CEO

Fact check. Emerson is the largest pure play automation supplier and customers don’t care. Foolish analyst fall for this drivel. Customers want modern products and see new investments to protect their equipment. Rockwell has squandered money overpaying for software acquisitions, buying back stock and underinvesting in core Logix products. Now their controller the L8 is falling behind. And nothing like meaningless word salad if resilient, agile and sustainable. Nothing like virtue signaling.

I can't tell if the pro-RA comments are someone being sarcastic, someone baiting those telling the truth, or if someone in RA management would sink to a new low by instructing the PR team to start a campaign to improve their image.

If the company is so proud of having 1 million followers on LinkedIn, maybe we should all spread the word about this website to get 1 million views here, then we'll see how proud the company is.

Hello. Rockwell has a long history of good people and solid products. The current management and board are inept but they won’t destroy the company or brand. Blake and his close team are dolts, but they will be gone soon. I spent 25 years and stupidly loved the company. It’s only the people you work with that matter. I worked very closely with Blake and other leaders and the prior generation of Keith et al. Keith was smarter and better. If you are young, consider other choices in automation or outside. If you are mid or late, hang in or look for something else. I left before I wanted to but have found better things away from Blake and his incompetence. When you leave, no one cares or remembers. It’s a big company. Even when Blake goes, no one cares or remembers. Family and friends first. Company and ceos-sc--w them.

I bet they are planning the Dalian exit. 250 Chinese programmers. They should leave now. Ian Shih just promotes himself and is a fraud. Tip of the spear to exit Asia pacific. Singapore is next. Pioneer status at risk.

Gipson told a senior exec to leave if SHE didn’t get promoted. Isn’t the board supposed to represent shareholders??? The board should be exited. Where is the institutional investors who are threatening their investors money???

Becky House has exercised $9.5 million in the last 4 years. She is head of hr, legal and sustainability. Seems like Blake gives her whatever roles she wants. How does that make you feel with no raises for another year and no bonus. If you are young, leave.

It’s interesting that Veena sold a bunch of stock on Monday before earnings call. Seems like that is normally a black out period? Or maybe it’s part of a planned exit……No big loss. Another shiny new person who flamed out. Lots of them lately. And Blake let a LOT of good talent exit in the last 4 years. Nice job Blake. You are like George Costanza-Rockwell should do the opposite of what you think. 🤔

Blake’s last internal update was telling—he looked uneasy, and for good reason. Trying to sell raises as “three months early” is insulting, gaslighting; it’s a transparent attempt to sugarcoat reality. He’s made one poor decision after another by neglecting core investments, and it’s finally catching up to him.

The senior VP team is no better. Bulho might be the only one who has a clue, and engineering actually respects him. No one else in leadership seems to understand our products or how they’re built, and there’s zero trust in them right now.

I expect the upcoming Global Voices survey will be a reality check. People held back last time, but I think the mood now is to call things out. Honestly, they might cancel it to avoid facing real feedback and embarrassment. Bets?

I’m not sure they have enough experienced people left to cut. That’s the scary part, the recent cuts were not the fat (deadbeats remain), they got rid of seasoned employees with decades of industry experience. This will be hard to recover from, if ever. Plus, these cuts are on the heels of the mass retirements a few years ago, when most of the original talent took the pension buyouts due to low interest rates. With such aggressive goals for growth, I don’t see how the current workforce can pull it off. There's an old saying that goes something like, “Fast, Good or Cheap - pick two.” Poland, India and China are cheap, so either fast or good will not be achieved.

Should we fire Blake. (Per ChatGPT)
Yes, based on the information and challenges Rockwell Automation is currently facing, it could be time for a leadership change if the goal is to reset the company’s trajectory. The Emerson acquisition proposal years back was a missed opportunity that may have brought in stronger leadership with a proven track record in performance and adaptability. Given Emerson’s success, it underscores the importance of visionary leadership aligned with market demands, which seems to be lacking under Moret’s tenure.

Replacing Blake with a leader who has a strong history of navigating complex, competitive markets could potentially unlock Rockwell’s latent value and re-establish it as an industry leader in automation. It might also pave the way to explore strategic partnerships or even rekindle acquisition interest, allowing Rockwell to benefit from a more synergistic and growth-oriented future.

Look at Emerson performance vs.Rockwell. They grew in ‘24 and are projecting growth in ‘25. Blake spurned a takeover saying we are better on our own. Hmmm. But he is sooooo smart. What a buffoon. But a Rick buffoon on the backs of the sad sack employees still there.

5 days a week in office would get rid of a lot of people. Morale is in the gutter anyway, I'm sure a lot of people quiet-quit a long time ago. Also, Blake trying to sell getting a raise 3 months early instead of 9 months late is insulting. As if we should be grateful? Brand new building in Chennai though. Wonder how many jobs went there (for half the cost).

Good to see they're putting the cost savings to good use by buying back stock. Is it fair to say the consultants got paid with blood money with all the heads that were chopped off?

From the earnings press release;
ITD ... Segment operating margin decreased to 18.4% in fiscal 2024, from 20.2% a year ago driven by lower sales volume, partially offset by lower incentive compensation...

SWC ... Segment operating margin decreased to 24.2% in fiscal 2024 from 33.0% a year ago driven by lower sales volume, partially offset by lower incentive compensation...

The Company repurchased approximately 450 thousand shares of its common stock at a cost of $118.0 million during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2024. For the full fiscal year 2024, the Company repurchased 2.2 million shares of its common stock at a cost of $594 million. At September 30, 2024, $1.3 billion remained available under existing share repurchase authorizations.

Restructuring charges include $27.6 million for severance benefits in the three months ended September 30, 2024, and $92.3 million for severance benefits and $5.1 million for strategic advisory services related to the enterprise-wide severance actions in the twelve months ended September 30, 2024.

Post ID: @gpk+1vnAMNED

Flaming disaster-that is how we should view Blake’s performance. Emerson had grew $2b+ this year and increased ebitda by 1%. Wow was up for them as well. Rockwell was down across the board. Only up in e-commerce is a joke. It’s data center growth that was a cubic acquisition Lucky timing. Run run and run. You will be laid off

Unfortunately, more cuts in spending and RIFs are inevitable. The progressive cuts will continue until the top line stabilizes. The word “decline” was used too many times on the call.
