Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

L3 is barely hanging on at this point

What happened to a once amazing company is beyond me.

"Was L3 an amazing company? I'm not so sure. The only thing that was remarkable about it was how Frank Lanza left the divisions pretty much to themselves and didn't feel the need to impose some kind of "corporate culture" on them. But eventually that withered away and the Qube ushered in an era of Lockheed Martin-esque homogenization. Fortunately I got out before the merger but I have not heard much good come out that."

I wish I could give this post 1000 thumbs up. I joined L3 in 2005 and still have my welcome letter from Mr. Lanza. I also saw the writing on the wall and left in 2019 prior to the merger. The original L3 was remarkable when it was "a loose federation of independent companies" - by design.

Trump has created the department of government efficiency. If you think L3 Harris is having trouble now, wait until Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswami get a hold of this place. Talk about waste.

You guys make me laugh. You complain about being told to do something illegal, but you do it anyway. You don't report it, you don't even confront your supervisor. You just grumble and complain anonymously on this site and then go about your business breaking the law on behalf of the company. And when the company finally goes belly up and lets you go, you'll complain about that too. Anonymously I guess.
Losers.

Employees on CC told program has excess budget that Must burn
by 12/31. Gvl/Waco told to charge to it no matter what they are
working on? Totally mismanagement.

I'll bet "management" gave some cleverly worded guidance that did not exactly say this but left everyone with that impression. But I don't think that will hold up in court if it comes to that.

L3H Waco has become a collection cliks groups of like minded individuals. The problem with this it has little or nothing to do with the job. And if you don't if in they find a way to remove you ie fire you.

If an audit is conducted, and they ask you about the contract you charged time to, you can bet your supervisor / manager will deny ever telling you to do that. You should bring this to the attention of the Defense Contract Management Agency. You should THEN notify human resources that your leadership has instructed you to commit time charging fraud, and that you followed protocols by notifying DCMA first.
People within this organization have been fired for doing this and you can bet they were following orders from people who walked away unscathed.
Don't be a patsy.

It is running exactly as they want it to. Look at it from their perspective. Everything they have done has helped the price of the stock, make returns for those heavily invested in the company and don't sc--w anything up, that is the goal. They say all the other garbage that we as employees want to hear, but you are the one that perceives it as a carrot.

Yes it is illegal . It's fraud to charge time to a program you are not working on! You are obligated to report this to the DCMA. If you don't report it, you are complicit in concealing a crime!
But you won't report it.
Because you're a weakling.
I'm right aren't I?

Could it get worse. Employees on CC told program has excess budget that Must burn by 12/31. Gvl/Waco told to charge to it no matter what they are working on? Totally mismanagement. Bet EC130 DM customer not aware of this. Is it not illegal?

The board of directors was taken over by activist investors who saw a chance to cannibalize the company and return investments to the stakeholders. It's about a big quick Buck for them and not a long-term payout. Once all of the juice has been su-ked out of this company they will abandon it and allow it to wither and die. Pieces of it will be sold off. The employees that linger are like the band that kept playing on the deck of the titanic. There are no boats for them to get into. So they just keep playing until they drown.

It's pretty simple. Anyone who is worth anything left or retired. The only remaining employees are incompetent and holding onto a position stabbing each other in the back fighting for survival between layoffs. L3Harris is not a good place to work.
