I was laid off yesterday. Can anyone help with a todo list or helpful hints/tips to close this chapter of my life? Example: 401k, getting personal pictures from work phone, etc.

Exercise every day. Retire officially if you can. Sleep in, set up lunch dates with friends, visit family.
Ignore the invites to join the alumni group. It’s a sad place and will prevent you from moving on. The people who run the group still work at Nike which is confusing.
Thank You All! Being with the company 35+ years I’ve never seen things in such chaos. I’m sorry for those left behind to pick up the pieces to deal with, all along with all the other cr-p they’re dealing with . I’m not so sad that this happened, I am however pi---d HOW it happened.
Exercise, even if just a long walk, everyday. Will help you through.
Join the alumni group on lnkdn if you haven't yet.
Sorry to hear, it su-ks!
If you back up the pictures to ICloud they will move with your number.
You can request that.
Don’t surrender your phone until you’re done with the transfer.
I had to get AT&T to unlock mine and transfer the number to me.
When I left the only thing HR told me was that if I had young kids to add them to the family list for the discount, that way they get it for life.
They were not very useful but everything kinda falls into place.
Good luck!
I'm sorry. You're not alone. Lots and lots of ex-Nike people have had the same experience. Reach out to them... even if you don't know them well. They'll help.
What team?
breath and grieve. Nike will send you a list of all of this.
- They will mail you all belongings
- They will keep you on the books a few months and healthcare for 6 usually before paying out severance
- They will send you everything in writing, including helpful contacts
- Do NOT take anything off your laptop. Put anything you want I. A folder titled “personal” and they will give you a chance to request it and send to you in box. You take it off your laptop and they will know, created a whole slew other other issues including jeopardized severance
- They will give you 6 month coaching and someone to help you with LinkedIn and your resume.
My advice in early days is: grieve and MOVE YOUR BODY. You have to feel feelings and move it through your body. Get out in nature, don’t jump into solve mode yet.
The rest will come soon and there will be time and support to navigate it all. Jumping in too quickly and you’ll show up poorly, better to give yourself a moment of space to ground before deciding what’s next.
