It’s infuriating how incompetent managers get promoted just because they’re buddy-buddy with the right people. Then, instead of making smart decisions, they mess everything up, and we all pay the price. They constantly make bad calls that create chaos, and it only gets worse. They have no clue what they’re doing and they keep making the worst choices for the business. How about promoting some experienced, competent people for a change, Verizon?

GNT - If you can't master your daily job but can tow a trailer congrats you are now a senior tech.
The disconnect is real.
when 99% of the vz are......
This is how Midwest GNT was / is. And this incompetent managers just promote these "buddies" to Senoi and Pruncipal roles and pass over qualified candidates. Then when confronted they gaslight you how others "perception" about you is. Yep just work on perception for buddies and promote them.
D-E-I and Buddy Buddy relationship is ki11ing this company
You have to have to hold a H1B or be from India to attain those roles. That is all that gets promoted. Watching as organizations are completely changed and those who are more than competent are passed up.
The executives are incompetent. They have a brilliant idea to implement, so this idea flows downhill until it reaches the desk of someone to prepare a business case. The unprofitability of the business case using inputs that can be explained means nothing. The executive wants this so the business case numbers are manipulated until the business case is profitable. Been there, and this is how garbage is created along with the loss of customers. Anytime an executive gets involved with brilliant ideas, M&A, etc., its always a disaster and huge loss.
Do you think just managers are incompetent ?
Incompetent goes all the way up to executive levels
Managers at vz do not run this place like a business. They don’t care, and let the slackers sit around. Cause at the end of the every week they get the same paycheck. Whether their employees are productive or not.
