Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Pay

I just found out I'm paid more than $10k less than a person doing the exact same job as I do in a smaller bank. Is this a me issue or is this normal for US Bank?

@qmw+1vsRSwjY I had forgotten about it. Yet another amazing failed effort from "leaders"

Elavon personnel are paid less that their counterparts at U.S. Bank for supporting the same functions, although the personnel sit in the same pay grade. Elavon pay sits within 10 - 20 percent under the grade salary midpoint, a similarly situated U.S. Bank employee will sit within 10 percent of the highest salary in the same grade, supporting the same functions. One U.S. Bank? Not really when it comes to salary, cost center or what your email address says.

U.S. Bank pays less than other banks. Expects more out of employees too - more hours, etc.

If you have been here for a while, this is not surprising and not unique to us bank.
But if you have NOT been here long, this might not just be a you thing. Pay at us bank is rather low compared to some other banks.

As an example, I have a rep that has worked for this organization for 17 years and her base is just over $52K. A new hire that started less than 6 months ago is making $71K before commissions.

They're a bank ... run by bankers ... who are historically and universally known to be super stingy. Unless you job hop every 2 years you are NEVER paid market rate. I guarantee it.

Unfortunately that's normal. They'll also hire in new people at a grade level higher than people currently working that job are in.

Normal for most companies. Your pay is negotiated on the front-end. If you want better pay then you should apply at a different bank and ask for $10k more per year, more thank likely you will get it.

The bank never pays workers more than they have to.
