Does anyone have confirmation that there are going to be layoffs in Q1? Not just speculation.

If anything happens it will be after the big bonus is announced. Based off my own layoff timeline it was perfectly timed that I wouldn’t get the Christmas bonus or the big one. They have to pay out the big one if you’re an active employee on 1/1 so why waste the money.
Hopefully the there will be some promotions. Lots of analyzts waiting years…
With AML Ops moving under Bank, there will be movements and consolidations. AML leadership is always looking for ways to accommodate employees rather than letting them go. Perhaps more senior roles will be eliminated early 2025 due to restructuring, but majority of employees should be fine. Also, there will be a full year worth of severance which isn’t that bad!
I am curious to see if consumer lending or mortgage will see cuts.
Are they just going to be risk and compliance? What about mortgage?

I’m no psychic, but yes there will be more layoffs in 2025.
There will be bank layoffs in January, IT will be hit along with KYC/AML. But, since we’re still under a consent order, bank employees will get 12 months severance if picked for job elimination.
