I’ve been looking for another job for months. I wanted to see how it looks out there ahead of layoffs. I got very few offers, most were not even worthy of consideration. I expanded the search well beyond the obvious choices and even into other related industries, and nothing. I don’t like working at CVS but I’m terrified of being laid off and completely demoralized by lack of options.

Full blown white collar recession.
Been going on for about a year year and a half now.
Tech is the worst by far in any industry right now.
Now is the time:
reduce expenses
Bulk up emergency fund of 6 to 12 months expenses
I think the american jobs market is nearing an inflection point.
You cant have an economy with non-stop layoffs after layoffs after layoffs ( across the entire economy not just cvs) while at the same time constant profits and obscene CEO pay.
I wish all of us peace and bounty.
These are ulgy times
Job market is not great. Not all companies with openings seem to want to hire which makes the entire process frankly horrible. Keep your chin up.

f-king cry about it and tell it to someone who give a F- once you are out you will be begging for the offers not worthy of your consideration...
It's been bad for a year and it won't be better for a long while if ever. Our competitors are laying off as well. I suggest you learn a new skill that will take you out of an industry that's not reliant on the stock market, government, and electoral administration whims.
