Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Will there be layoffs as a direct result of the Brian Thompson situation?

I’m concerned that sales will plummet because nobody will want to have insurance with that evil company that they keep hearing about on social media, and that layoffs will have to follow. On top of that, new CEOs in general tend to make layoffs.

Does anyone have any insight to this or share the same concerns?

I know there are talks in 1: for many side it’s been let slip. So the people that actually talk to the members and work with their issues

It will have no effect. Layoffs already planned for q1 like every year. Great time to buy stock though on the dip.

It doesn't matter who sits in that seat. Layoffs happen when stocks plummet. It seems to be the corporate answer to stock increases for the big wigs.

Layoffs were planned in Jan / Feb prior to his death. Now that he has passed the company is re-evaluating timing. However, I know a few people that have already been told they should look for new positions and are talking to the redeployment team.

What a crude question. It wasn't a situation, Brian was mu---red. How shameful to question layoffs being a result of his untimely demise. Do better.

No way medicare covers semaglutide for weight loss only for diabetes. Medicare will go broke same for medicaid if they allow for weight loss

Not just that but the elimination of VBID pay tiers related to Medicare Advantage and ACOs. In addition to semaglutide being covered under Medicaid and Medicare will eat up available plan funds. Healthcare layoffs (insurance and care delivery companies) will be significant across all companies in 2025.
