It depends on so many things…

You got to be better at stealing work and get credit for others hard work.

You got to be better at licking your boss shoes.

You got to be better at gossiping.

You got to be better at talking, not doing anything.

Title changes are Feb but Managing Directors seem to be announced before year end.

HR has taken over title changes. I know of an associate caught cheating so their numbers exceeded their team-mates get promoted to AVP. This person got a slap on the hand.

Based on what I have read in some posts, the official announcement of a title change comes during your EOY review. General question for everyone...when is your EOY?

Generally I don't have mine until mid to late January. If I get a bonus or raise, that comes around March.

Work has nothing to do with promotion. It's all about being a favorite, playing the game and ki$$ing the right a$$es.

Title changes are generally twice a year as noted below.

But officer title (VP, Director, SVP, MD, etc) means nothing. (does not come with any pay increase. That is separate.)

Band promotion comes with more pay. They will save the title for later to throw you a bone.

Or throw you a title when they can't pay or actually promote your band.

So ki$$ the right a$$ or get a counter offer to give them a chance to match. (which they might and then freeze you forever for disloyalty)

I've been waiting over a decade to hear the requirements for a title change. If my work alone isn't the answer, then I will keep the title I have.

Titles really don't matter when you think about it. I have worked with several VPs and SVPs and they work less than I do. I'm not saying that my level of work is extraordinary. I have a work ethic. I do what needs to be done.

Frankly, with the amount of similar titles we have, it's comical.

Mid year and year end reviews are most common time to find out about promotions and title changes.
