Seems folks are getting out while the getting is good. Any idea of early packages are being offered? Or are folks just getting out? Seeing folks leave at a few levels.

My bet the departures OP is seeing are people under 45. As others have stated here, when the layoffs come the market will be saturated with job seekers and the "good" jobs will be over supplied with applicants. When you find an "ideal" job, take it. The EOI will never be as good as the satisfaction of getting some peace of mind right now. Those over 45 with no marketability (no network, no accomplishments) will have to sweat out the EOIs.

I left recently.
I wasn’t sticking around for the S*** show. After getting passed up for leadership roles multiple times despite multiple EEs on the past three PMPs. Combine that with the layoffs and, according to management, increased frequency and amplification of reorgs, I wasn’t sticking around for a flooded job market (Phillips is closing).
I saw a job that was a perfect match, interviewed shortly after, and started the new role roughly six weeks after applying.
No guarantee jobs will be around next year when the market is even more saturated. Gotta take what you can get while you can get it.
A wise man told me long ago that if you think you've found a better job than take it. Control your own future.
We've just had someone leave this week and I think they were paid off.
If you want to read just the exact opposite of what is really happening, come read posts on this layoff site. That's what I've found in most cases, anyway.
If you have an opportunity now and it fits what you need, you should take it. So you might get a package or you might not. Do you want CVX to control your future or yourself. Besides if you wait till the masses get laid off, less spots open as everyone else will be job hunting.
You never know if the job search will take a month or a year. People are starting the process now and would be stupid to pass up an opportunity if one presents itself. You can’t assume another offer will come as easily next time if you wait for the package.
When does this forum start getting a new thread every time HR resigns?
Many people are saying going through another long suffering disembowelment process is not worth a package.
The lucky ones to leave now with a new gig aligned are not concerned with the severance package.
They are investing in their mental health…
its a bit like gambling. How much is the package worth vs grabbing a job while it available. People that get laid off will likely get a pay cut when they find another job, becaue the new employer knows the game.
