Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

It's getting closer

I know I shouldn’t be this excited about layoffs, but they’ve kept us in this exhausting limbo for so long that I just want it to be over already. At this point, I’m saying, bring it on! Let’s rip off the bandage and move forward, whatever the end result ends up being.

At this point... who even wants to stay? Just offer us all 3 weeks per, and accept any and everyone's EOI! THAT would be amazing!

It’s like planning a big vacation and working all the particulars and then the day arrives where you get on that plane, cruise ship, etc and then the voyage starts! Enjoy the anticipation that comes while getting to that point!

Historically in person. However with the current ‘leadership’ it’ll be whatever BCG says that she’ll or Exxon does

How do they usually do this? In person in the office or remotely via Teams?

And plenty of Big Kevs will get let down and find out if they want to leave they have to quit, no package. Watch what you wish for.

Email coming in Feb so relax for now. Plenty of us will jump on the grenade for you and take the cash. You're welcome.

I’ve been through half a dozen of these. I’m mostly dreading hearing people say, “Control what you can control.”

It’s such a fatalist cliche. As if this layoffs are an inevitability, not a direct consequence of executives’ business plans. We’re the Aztecs, and the tribal leaders tell us we have to sacrifice virgins to make the weather happy.

It's a painful bandage to rip off, mine was in 2016, in one of their endless ROMs. Are severance packages being offered? With all the dividends and stock buybacks this past year, seems CVX is flush with cash.

I am excited to volunteer to EOI so that someone else can stay! Now that’s winning!

Has anyone heard of when more official announcements are going to be made that answer real questions? Ie. What business units, when each will be impacted, how many will be impacted? We just need more concrete information to help us to more appropriately mentally prepare.
