The only thing that kept people at Boeing for the most part, it was their pension benefit. When Boeing took that away, there’s absolutely no incentive for anyone to stay at Boeing more than five years.
In fact, the more seniority at Boeing usually indicates you’re more likely to be laid off. That’s how absurd the company is now.
The most experienced people they had retired during Covid. They won’t ever have people who stay for 30+ years.
Good luck at your new company. It really can't be any worse than the dumpster fire you are leaving.
I did it!!! Turned in my notice this morning. I've been looking since furloughs were announced.
When I handed my boss the letter she was both pi---d and surprised. I expect over the next two weeks Boeing will try to get me to burn a bridge with the other company, but its not going to happen.
I think there will be a whole bunch more shocked and pi---d managers in the next 6 months.
The so called people the don't want to lose have been quietly watching and many have reached the point of leaving. I'm definately not the first and I definately won't be the last.
Get out while you can. Budgets are now open at other companies as of Jan 1, the time to move is now.
Good luck and happy hunting.
It won’t be any different at NG or Lockheed…just a different player. They are all just a different set of stupid.
If they're smart, they don't want mu---rous Boeing employees stinking up their companies.
May the wind fly beneath your wings.
