Are there still people enrolling in everest/wyotech/heald? And if so, why? Community College is a fraction of the price and degrees are regionally accredited not national at CC's. Please inform students that for profit schools are all scams. Why would you pay 17k when you could pay 5k and graduate from a respectable actual real school? Amazed that someone would even consider for profit schools anymore, especially the Everest, Wyotech, heald names. So sad........

412 and 413 -- glad you posted twice, since I had to read it twice anyone to try to figure out what the hell you were getting at. What you managed to demonstrate (twice, just to make it crystal clear) is that you have no knowledge base or insight into accreditation issues whatsoever.
Simply, the way you can tell if the college is worth a darn is if any single class can be transferred to USC, Penn State, UCLA, etc. If they can't, the school is a rip-off. If you are told the degree can transfer, just not a single class, its just talk, not all colleges will accept the private degrees.
"Accreditation" is really screwed up as most of these private college are "accredited", its just from a bozo group, but hey its "accredited."

OP, 401 and 402 (all the same dumbass): Let's recap your poor excuse for a career. '79 to '83 history major (figures, and you probably got financial aid to pay for THAT waste of time), '91 to '93 "exercise physiology" major (WTF?), then suddenly '93 to '98 (5 years...really?) you get a PhD in sociology. Two years to get a low level job in the department of corrections, a year unemployed (all of 2007 - how the HELL could someone not find a job in 2007?!?), and then several short-term community college adjunct gigs. Just go away. You have NOTHING to say that we have any interest in. It might be Everest instructors deciding to leave that led to your current employment situation. They are much more employable than you.
Heald has WASC regional accreditation. You'd know that is you did your research before posting.
Anonymous68401: MOST of the people reading this have advanced degrees and have attended and worked at a variety of colleges. To be quite honest, in my experience most community colleges are far inferior to career colleges and most students who attend do not progress far. Some students need the extra push and hand holding. And the "hahaha" just makes you come across like an idiot, BTW.
Of course Community College is better than Everest. Nobody on this site can honestly argue that. Notice the attempt to change the discussion?

If DCC told you they were firing you because the career colleges were taking all of their business away, they were lying.
