Latest talk is that a certain large PSL will be sold...

I worked for Multi-Chem from 2006-2014 and it was like going from daylight to dark when Halliburton bought Multi-Chem. There were a lot of very talented and loyal employee's who got the shaft. Halliburton hasn't a clue how to run a business efficiently. Halliburton is all about taking silly safety quiz's online and as long as you do that everyone is happy. They know absolutely nothing about the chemical business and they will eventually run it in the ground. Baker employee's better get ready for the stupidity to take over.
The business models of today are a joke. Companies such as Ecolab buying Nalco. GE buying Bet. Halliburton buying MultiChem. What do any of these buyers know about the chemical business. All they are in for is buy a company, downsize it to look more profitable, and the sell it. There is no consideration taken for the actual workers. What a shame!
Morons. Cuts are only made in areas of extreme over lap or where the combined company will be able to control market pricing. When BHI/ BJ merger occurred they assembled a company with three boats and a dock in the gulf. What ever they get rid of will not be a previously known company...it will be all the overlap that appears to give market control. Nothing to do with product lines. HAL will keep all cutting edge technology and dump the old sh!t in the over lap areas.
Would you believe baker and Sperry co-habitating like an extended family with mariachi bands and tacos every Tuesday.
Quest, It is not as simple as a silly 5 piece puzzle business model created by grown men who have carved their niche based upon their perceptions that motivation is to be found in a discussion of them putting on their pants. Noooo, it is not that simple. Multichem is obviously a badly chosen business model in that even the name presents its own challenges when keyboarding and spellchecking. But, something as simple as Sperry, and being synonymous with easy wearing men’s shoes, should be above question. But the answer there is obvious, Sperry then, does not readily lend itself to being business casual. To put it quite frankly Quest, management has lost vision for this business unit over the last several years. And, i must add, should the business unit be sold, divested or otherwise released from HAL ownership in favor of another business model, well that should be considered as failure and a reflection upon management. The burden of that failure resting upon management. And unfortunately, though i am well aware one should not begin a sentence with “and”, but unfortunately the failures of management trickle down to have an even greater impact upon the rank and lower file who’s fortunes in life are now affected by those who have proven able to make a once thriving business now a mere shadow of its past self. I am sorry Quest, I must leave you with that for it is time for me to go. I leave you to your leaders, your movers and your shakers, your free inexplicably bad coffee (premium available in the lobby at a price) and those failing eco-toilets. As you people say, “I wish you (insert your favorite deity here)speed.”
Zin!, I should have known you would show yourself. A man of your character should be quite comfortable amongst this chaos. Reasonably, when worlds collide the pieces do not so easily piece together. With that understanding we move on and re-establish ourselves in order to achieve the desired result, picking up the pieces of the puzzle and sorting them to achieve the desired results. We, here, are currently in daily discussion of how those pieces may best be placed. That decision though is not ours, nor of perhaps our leaders, but rests ultimately with the Counsel de'Integration.
MC is da zvedanya! Hope old Mr Archer buys it back for two bits on the dollar!
So, Dr. Quest. We meet again. As expressed elsewhere on this same board, we see that in comparison to Multi-Chem alas, Baker is the leader in that division. Yessssss, and furthermore, if you want to use the argument that they just bought Multi-Chem, welllll ah, hahahaaaa, let me say haven't they most recently bought BAKER? Yes! again, hahahaaaaaa. No, that does not bode well for your beloved Multi-Chem I am sorry. But, the decision is not ours to make, you and I. We are different, you and I. I say tomato and you say tomato, but we are still different. My beard is leaner and much more trim and cleaner in appearance than yours. I would think my grooming maintenance is much simpler as well. Ah!hahaha. There, you are dished. Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaaa. That aside, my bet is that the opinions of your beloved securities commission will play a part in the ultimate decision in that there must be some compromises made to avoid anti-trust and the elimination of an industry competitor. In this case, there cannot be only one. But I say to you again Benton, hahahaaaaaa. But oh Benton, you cling so tightly to your old ways, and your cherished visions of your beloved Sperry. But how have those images transpired over the past 5 or past 10 years Benton? And how do they appear todaaaayyyyyyyy? Yesssss? Noooooo? Mayyyyybe! Again how do the two compare for quality, market share, price and availability knowing that your actual mileage may vary. The integration of the two cannot be seamless and perhaps impossible? So you must tell yourself, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps there can be only one. In fact, comments on the BHI board are already starting to refer to the Great Crew Change. What does this mean? Is it open for interpretation? Iterpreted loosely, could imply that the table cloth may simply be removeded from the table and the table reset with baker china and place settings. As you know Benton, I was always one to appreciate fine dining. Ahhhhh Ha Ha Ha Haaaaa. We must all wait for time to tell the tale. Ahhhhhhhhhh, yesssssssss.
Hot topic for sure. It will be interesting to see how this ultimately settles out. Until then, all these posts are guesses. Unconfirmed. It will be a business decision based on money and market share. If you are smart enough to figure that out, go ahead, I'm not. But I would imagine old uncle HAL will rebuild his empire based off what provides the best return on investment. If baker has a better widget than sperry? So long sperry. If baker has a better multi-chem? Who cares that they just bought MC, who cares about SAP implementation. Not that HAL can actually use SAP.
I've heard several comparisons and scenarios, just as you have. And many of those ultimately end with the same result. Which I am not going to get started spinning. The layoffs, yes that is unfortunate but the oil slump was going to cause that anyway. With all the events that are occurring simultaneously it gives the exec division ample opportunity to execute objectives for one purpose while blaming it on another. And quite honestly, I don't believe anything that anyone tells me anymore, especially if it comes from anyone at a higher grade than the dumb schmuck that is sitting beside me now looking out the window in our shiny deluxe digs here.
This seems to be hot topic. I do not think that any one knows (including C-level folks) in what direction this one is going to develop.
I heard Multichem is gone.
you started all this with nothing more than a statement equivalent to, "the sun will rise tomorrow", a statement of the obvious. cut to the point and state your comment.
What about sssv? Sub sea safety valves.....Will they be sold off too
Who's buying Sperry?
Fluids, cement, wireline, sperry, bits, artificial lifts, nd completion tools. They will go. Already confirmed this in last meeting.
Halliburton runs 13 product service lines, which one are you referring to? Baroid? Sperry? Drill Bits? Testing/Subsea? Landmark? Wireline? Artificial Lift? Multi-Chem? Cementing? Compl. Tools? Prod Enh? Prod Solutions? Consulting and Project Management? So, which one is it?
Why would they sell it? I see no logic in that move.
This talk is depressing
There is no way either PSL will be sold. It does not make sense.
I also heard Wireline
I thought Wireline
Is Sperry going to GE or NOV?
