Thread regarding Follett layoffs

This begs to be shared AGAIN

Last sentence of second to last paragraph is all telling... just a matter of time folks. But execs will get richer off a takeover. Everybody else is on the street with (maybe) a month or two of severance. As Drake says "find your love" and make a move. Bonuses pay out after March. Watch the exits in Chicago by summer because nobody wants to be the last one around when the lights cut out. You might get spared if youre in a retail store but that's a big question mark. Hourly/PT/PT2 folks definitely won't get any $$ relief that's fo sho. Corp America is littered with the souls of its worker bees.

Vivian: So whadda ya do with the companies once you buy 'em?

Edward: I sell them.

Vivian: You sell them.

Edward: Well, I… don't sell the whole company, I break it up into pieces, and then I sell that off, it's worth more than the whole.

Vivian: So, it's sort of like, um… stealing cars and selling 'em for parts, right?

Edward: Yeah, sort of. But legal.

This doesn't make sense. Follett wouldn't sell to B&N. There are two divisions here, FHEG and FSS. FHEG could be sold to B&N, but what about the K-12 division? What would they do with that? B&N isn't interested in that market.

Barnes & Noble may find a buyer for Nook or the entire company. And an annual dividend of $1 a share or more is possible, versus zero now. The company has invested in a digital learning platform called Yuzu that lets students read textbooks on computers or tablets, take notes, and communicate with one another. B&N might even buy its larger college bookstore rival, Follett. The family knows this industry is dying. Why not hire a ruthless CEO who will lay off thousands, make the botton line look much better and sell the company. Numbers are not bad this year so if BN is interested, you can bet the family will sell. Sell now for $$$$$ or sell after the decline for $$
