It's pretty easy to figure out - what lines has she worked on that have been successful? The problem with her running Hot Wheels is you have to LOVE automobiles. It's NOT the fact she's a woman, it's the fact that if you don't love automobiles, you do not understand the line - the line is built on the dreams of boys (and some girls) who love everthing about autos and can tell you blindfolded a Ferrai California from a Ferrari Daytona. That's the problem with mattel. NO PASSION. The people who want to be the leaders have no love of the product. They NEVER ask - is this fun for kids? The only question they seem to ask - does this hit the slotted retail matrix of this line. That is why Mattel is in a death spiral.
Well I worked for Lisa many years ago and I can tell you she's the most incompetent and insecure people I've ever met. The people that worked for her? Well that easy to explain. If she liked you...you stayed. If she didn't like you...she would spend every minute trying to figure out how to get rid of you. How? Easy because she knows the system and because she is not creative and has a complete lack of design ability. If you don't spend time designing, doesn't that give you plenty of time to throw people under the bus? The fact that she is now VP of Hot Wheels is the biggest joke of all. Unfortunately it's also a huge insult to the talented designers left in HW...if there are any. Please Mattel keep her a secret to the outside world since it really is embarrassing.

Lisa is an innocent. She's great. Ask anyone who has worked for her. Your remark is pointless. When does a VP draw pictures? She doesn't micro manage like some. She trusts the designers because she came up through the ranks and knows what it takes. Pull your head out of your ass 83814 and cast your gaze a little higher. Then you might see who really deserves your attitude
Yeah, not sure how you can become VP of Hot Wheels Design if you can't draw a vehicle? That's like a Lifeguard who can't swim :) A pilot who can't fly a plane..........that place has become totally disgusting. So sad from what it used to be as the bootlickers won the war.
Hopefully Disney will buy them and clean house.
Its not just at the VP level. I was laid off this go round because one of the guys I worked with went above management and said things that were false to save his job. When he personally did things that he could have been fired for to me. But I was the better person and never took him to HR. Learn my lesson though. I believe in KARMA and it will come back and get him.
You must be referring to Lisa Strom who's now a VP of Not Wheels.................she can't even draw a vehicle so it makes perfect sense that she's a VP of Not Wheels.
