Paid vacation

It's interesting that BHI does not pay for full year unused vacation days when employees are layed off, but HAL does. Sad state of affairs.

Vacation is accrued. That was changed years back. You will get paid for any unused vacation days.

But BHI is paying for 3 months of all insurance and HAL is making their emp's use COBRA which is about 1500.00 a month for a family. Guess that vac money will be spent on ins.

Overall, the BHI emp's rcvd a better package than the HAL emp's.

But BHI pays for 3 months medical insurance, and maximum up to 26 weeks (minimum of 4 weeks) for severance pay for years of service. HAL pays 2 weeks notice + up to 13 weeks for severance pay for years of service (don't know about their medical insurance)
