Weatherford wasn't always like this in all fairness it used to be a great company to work for. Then the business grew and greed set in especially with management. Personally i am sad to see Weatherford in it's current state and reality is it ' only getting worse.

A lot of the people left behind seem like they have already checked out.I am so frustrated... and tired. Why am I still trying? What is the point?
I work with great people and respect some of the managers above me. I have also met a lot of morons in the company. However, the ratio of people I like, managers I respect, and the morons are about the same at any place I worked. The grass isn't greener, just different. All I can hope is that I survive the layoffs, the people let go land on their feet and some bosses who shouldn't be here are let go. As much as we want to bitch on here our competitors are doing very similar stuff.i could go on about all the stuff that needs to be fixed or what could be done to improve, but right now, all management is thinking about is how not to spend money so we don't go broke. At the end of the day, those let go and those who are left behind should be a little better off. The people let go have it shitty now, but maybe a better future, those left behind have a job, but will most likely be stuck in this same crappy cycle and now doing way more work. Yes I am in management and I think I have a 50/50 chance of getting through this, I've had to make some hard choices that impacted some really good people, but there is no shop work on the horizon, their left behind get more on eir plates, including me.
Everyone has a different experience. Myself, I was made promises for promotion on numerous occasions within the last year or so, which lead to nothing. Worked under supervision that had a fraction of my knowledge, provided for the company on a global scale, while working and never being promoted, from the lower portion, non supervisory/management roles, of the organizational chart within my pl. I was lucky to receive a pat on the back. I met a few intelligent and all around good people, but for the most part had to suffer unprofessional morons who never cared about quality of service or product provided. I would say this company provided a very good learning experience as to who I am and the type of company and environment I need to work within.
My boss was solid to until he sold me out and layed me off.
I had a completely different experience - my boss was solid, and I enjoyed my work. I guess it's all individual and depends on the business unit.
