Thread regarding SAE Institute (formerly the School of Audio Engineering) layoffs

12/21 "Another Group Layoff"

I remember reading this before that someone forecasted another group layoff and to get it right, so far Will Winkowski, and I think a few academic people.

They said second quarter, not second fiscal quarter.

I thought that SAE worked from a June-June fiscal year or something. How could April 1 be the beginning of the second quarter?

If they are full time, they won't lose their benefits.

no department is protected. As long as the numbers are down (Incoming students) the overhead had to be cut. I heard that they are going to make the majority of full-time staff in Education become hourly. Say good-by to benefits. This will happen in April, the beginning of the second quarter.

How many times are they going to restructure? Any chance on laying off in marketing? Or is that department protected?

I think they are restructuring now that The COO is gone. The COO purposely saved his own people during the first layoff and restructuring. He convinced others that certain positions were or were not needed. Seriously, he got rid of Compliance and placement people. And they were the ones that actually did their jobs. Got rid of Chris Davie because he was outspoken. Got rid of FA to try and secure FA at the group level.

Does this mean we have no money or is it part of the re-org?
