there are still tons of contractor PM and BA's in TTS. Are they gonna get kicked out this week?

I have a couple dozen contractors with several either onshore or onsite. The least expensive onshore/site are $80 per hour and three at $200 per hour. Made me sick every time I had to go into Beeline and update their assignments. Knowing that my salary is less than 5% of the contractor base I manage, but will most likely be losing my job on Tuesday is disturbing.
You can't fire your contractor if he/she is the only one who knows how to do the work. In TTS, this appears to be the case more so than Merch, Marketing, etc...
There's no mass contractor release plan beyond the generalized reduction going on. You'll likely see a contractor PM/BA on Wednesday where a TM in the same role was walked out on Tuesday.
In tech your problem is there is not enogh talent out there to backfill contractors that will work at Target
I would foubt your onshore contractors average 200-300 an hour
We've already started this process on our team and rolled off most of those contractor positions before the fiscal year start and will likely do the same on the rest by end of Q1.
Contractors are there to stay
target is a big joke. this is the only place i see , they retain contractors and let employees go. Managers will fight for contractors on the team and never care for employees. For contractors , they easily pay twice the money than employees..
I've seen some contractors in place for 3 or more years already.
Its in the goal plan to reduce contractors by 30% in q1 of 2015. The quicker our LMGs act, some team members could be saved
I thought this is already in process
Those onshore consultants charge 200- 300 $$ per hr, and the ones at offshore start from 25$ and more. It is target india which works fr peanuts .. almost 10$
What is the point you are trying to make? Target india is in the same boat as others and are paying for the leadership mistakes. Agreed there are lot of LMG and KMG who hardly know anything nd need to go... however it isnt right to say the entire team to leave
Last few layoffs contractors just continued on
Let's hope so. Along with lots of people from Target India.
